International Partners



In 2005 SPAR International and the EAA celebrated 10 years of partnership.  SPAR became the Principal Partner of the EAA in 1996 when its sponsorship began with that year's European Athletics Indoor Championships.  The sponsorship agreement is now in its third term and runs until the end of 2007.


Seiko has been the EAA's Official Timing and Measurement Company since 1991 and supplies all timing and electronic distance measurement equipment at EAA events. 


Epson became the EAA's Technical Partner in 2001.  Epson supports the EAA's data processing requirements and supplies the Commentator Information System (CIS) at events.


EBU/Eurovision has been the Official Broadcast Partner of the EAA since 1991 and is the distributor of the broadcasting rights for EAA events within Europe .

Norwich Union has been the No1 sponsor of UK Athletics, including the GB & NI team since 1999 and recently agreed a new deal to continue the sponsorship until 2012, which makes it the biggest sponsorship in British sport outside football. Norwich Union also funds all of UK Athletics grassroots schemes.

Heart FM, the official regional radio station of the 29 th European Athletics Indoor Championships, is the Midland 's biggest radio station and is part of the Chrysalis Radio Group. The station plays More Music Variety and is aimed at listeners aged 25-44 across Warwickshire and the West Midlands .

Renault, who offer an extensive range of desirable, safe and distinctive cars and vans, are the official vehicle supplier for the European Athletics Indoor Championships. The official car for the Championships is the Renault Espace.

Competitive sport is in Renault's blood and the Renault F1 team have won the Formula One Constructors' Cup for the last two years.Renault is the number two car manufacturer in Europe and number one for vans and are in the top five in the UK.

Gaz de France has been a major supporter of sport for over 15 years. The company operates from the grass roots, through to partnering with international events including an annual Golden League athletics meeting.
Gaz de France recently launched an important partnership with SportsAid, the charity for young sports people.


UK sport

Established by Royal Charter in 1996, UK Sport works in partnership with the home country sports councils and other agencies to lead sport in the UK to world-class success. UK Sport is responsible for managing and distributing public investment (£29 million annually) and is a statutory distributor of funds raised by the National Lottery (9.2% of sport allocation).

UK atheletics

UK Athletics is the national governing body for the sport of athletics in the UK . The UK Athletics organisation represents a new era for the sport and focuses on three key elements; a dedicated performance structure, a new framework for development work and a competition structure that truly meets the needs of all levels of athlete.

Birmingham City Council
