Entertainment continues at Brindleyplace
Brindleyplace, next to the NIA, is the place to be for additional entertainment during the European Indoor Athletics Championships.
Saturday morning saw The University of Birmingham’s cheerleading squad take to the stage, with a fantastic display of athleticism. The Pussycats, formed four years ago, are rated the number one university team in the country.
The Official Entertainment zone for the Championships, also featured a troupe of belly dancers, who entertained a large crowd.
The entertainment will continue until 6.00pm on Saturday, with more dazzling displays of music and dance from around the world. You should also pop down to have a look at the athletics quiz on display, to test your knowledge of track and field.
The afternoon programme at the Bandstand kicks off at 3.00pm with Jazz Band, Swing Theory. From 5.00pm-9.15pm, spectators can enjoy music from Streetwise and Fat Lip, two popular covers bands.
The action continues on Sunday with children’s athletics on all day in Central Square, with further dancing and other entertainment interspersed throughout the programme.
